RoboForm is a long-standing password manager from Siber Systems (since 1999), with a focus on form filling and one-click logins. It uses AES-256 with PBKDF2 SHA-256 and a zero-knowledge architecture: your Master Password never leaves your device and encryption happens locally. We tested it on Windows and in Chrome; the free tier gives unlimited passwords on a single device, with compromised password scan, TOTP, Passwordless Unlock and advanced 2FA (passkeys, hardware keys).

Who is RoboForm for?

If you want a free option on one device with strong form filling and breach monitoring, or a low-cost Premium at about 1.66 euros/month (billed annually, 33% off first year), RoboForm is a solid choice. The Family plan at 2.66 euros/month covers 5 Premium accounts. Business at 3.33 euros/user/month includes separate personal and work vaults, admin center, SSO, SCIM, dark web monitoring and, from 10+ paid licenses, a free RoboForm Family plan for each employee. Enterprise adds custom pricing, dedicated support and self-hosting for 1000+ users.

Security and audits

RoboForm has been audited by Secfault Security; the report is available. Data breach monitoring covers up to 5 email addresses. Advanced 2FA includes passkeys, trusted devices and hardware security keys in addition to email, SMS and TOTP. Local only mode keeps your data and backups on your device with no cloud sync. Emergency access lets you designate trusted contacts to obtain access to your vault in case of death or incapacitation.

Our verdict

RoboForm suits you if you want a low-cost manager with strong form filling, breach monitoring and optional local-only storage. The zero-knowledge design and Secfault audit are pluses. For open source or unlimited free devices, consider Bitwarden or Proton Pass.
