1Password vs NordPass: our comparison
1Password and NordPass are both easy to use, but 1Password costs more and has no free tier. NordPass is from Nord Security (NordVPN) and is one of the cheapest paid options. We compared them on price, features and who they suit.
1Password vs NordPass in short
NordPass has a free plan (one device) and Premium from about 1.99 euros/month (annual). 1Password has no free tier; Individual is about 2.74 euros/month. So NordPass is cheaper and has a free option. In return, 1Password offers Travel Mode, Watchtower, the Secret Key and the best family plan we have tested (5 members, shared vaults). NordPass has XChaCha20 encryption and Cure53 audit; 1Password uses AES-256-GCM and a unique Secret Key. Both are secure. The choice is mainly: do you want the lowest price (NordPass) or the most features and polish (1Password)?
What we tested
We imported the same vault into both. Autofill was reliable on Chrome and Android for both. 1Password felt more polished on iOS and had smoother family onboarding. NordPass's free tier is limited to one device—if you use phone and laptop, you need Premium or another manager. NordPass Premium (2-year plan) includes 3 months of NordVPN; 1Password has no VPN.
Who should choose 1Password

Who should choose NordPass

Our verdict
Choose 1Password if polish, family and Travel Mode are worth the extra cost. Choose NordPass if you want the cheapest reliable option and can accept a simpler feature set.
